Stop me before I cook again...

I may have used the 2-cup measuring cup instead of the 1-cup measuring cup when I measured out 1 1/4 cups sugar (aside from the fact that I was first going to put in 1 1/4 cups of flour & 1/3 cup sugar instead of the other way around). And I forgot to put butter on the top of the mixture after putting the 2nd crust on the top, so I had to peel the top crust off to get the butter in there.

I have no idea what happened to whatever incling of cooking sense I at one point had.

Ah, yes. It ended up just fine, actually, so I freaked on the amount of sugar I had put in there for no reason, aside from thinking out too much.

Rhubarb chutney! That's just so exciting. What do you serve it with?

That sounds absolutely incredible. I'll have to pass that idea on to the cook.

Me TOO!

Well you and I were completely on the same page. I have had a taste for a good custardy rhubarb pie ever since I made rhubarb crisp last week. I had a real problem with the flour part because I didn't follow my instincts and put the flour in loosely on the fruit and instead mixed it in with the yolk misture. Whatever the reasons the result was a giant puddle in a pie shell with doughy lumps of egg/flour floating on top. Thank goodness I wasn't bringing my pie to round out your dinner or vice versa! Can't believe we both had the same failure in the same day.

Jujupees! How are ya! How did the interview go?

I have to get the rhubarb crisp recipe, and any other you may have around. The pie recipe gets a little old after the third or so time. I only picked 1/2 of the rhubarb currently coming up.

My problem w/ cooking usually is following my instincts. I'm glad I'm not a 50s wife.
