Old Time radio

Boy, they're in the war now, man. They're doing lots of things about the war. Apparently, both FDR and mayor La Guardia (NYC) gave advice on making coffee. They didn't get into La Guardia's ideas, but FDR's advice was to re-use the grounds. Everyone spoken to disliked both. It's nice that they made complaining about the stuff that they had to do a comic part of the show - helped people in dealing, I guess. My Favorite Husband: "Liz Plays Matchmaker"
Oh, and remember that "the old songs were the sweet songs." This new stuff is no good.
12/02/50.Sherlock Holmes: "Murder in the Casbah"
"Liz" is Lucille Ball. It was the radio program right before I Love Lucy came out. They've never played it that I can remember on these Old Time Radio nights.
Lucille Ball isn't as kooky on this as I Love Lucy, but she's still a little kooky.
The plot has a businessman (on the make), which is just amusing to listen to.
Huh. The murderer is found out because he mistook creme de menthe & port (the murderer has red/green color blindness; and both port & creme de menthe are, apparently, dark and could be mixed up if you're color blind).X-Minus One: "To the Future" (12/14/55)
The murderer comes off as kind of jerky to his g-friend; but it turns out she's not, so that makes me feel better.
2 people go 200 years into the past, 200 years away from the craziness (bio & nuclear war). They're being traced by a tracker who is there to bring them back. The wife is not a hell of a lot of help. She's kind of freaking out the whole time.Inner Sanctum: "Dark Chamber"
Although sometimes I listen to these things and realize I'd probably just as bad. In case I have to go from the year 2155 to 1955. Yes: for when that happens.
Oh, but it doesn't end happily. Of course, it was written by Ray Bradbury, so... there you go.
One of the weird things about Inner Sanctum is that the commercials involve a ghouly guy and a completely normal woman hawking Lipton tea. It's so strange it works in an odd way.
