Music is everywhere
Mar. 15th, 2004 07:47 amWe have a stereo again! Mda picked up a tuner last night from our friend M and her hubby D. It's silvery and has big knobs--it's apparently about 3 decades old. It also has the warm glow of incandescent light instead of LEDs behind the panels. It's strange to have the first floor of the house flooded with sound again, rather than my radio put in the corner.
Mda also came back from M&D's with a wrapped present for me, saying, "I think it's an antique that her daughter was given at one time." I was thinking, "My god. I hope it's not something she wanted." M's daughter is an only child, and I couldn't imagine taking any antique of hers. Well, I opened it up and it was this little toy called "Astro Command"
Mda and I played with it for awhile. It has "realistic space sounds." Mda's convinced he's not really good at it, but then again, we just played for a little bit. I played longer with it after I turned it on, but before I pressed the "start" button. If you turn it on, but don't press the "start" button, it goes through a little play show as sort of advertisement. So I'm moving the little joystick around going, "Huh. This doesn't seem to do anything!" duh.
