mda & I aren't up on the cultural things like we should be, but that's what "end of the year" recaps are for. Through that we found this.

Below the cut is the embedded "Bert & Ernie rap 'Ante Up'". It's an example of brilliant editing. And the song is really good, particularly when "sung" by Bert & Ernie.

I've seen lots of Muppet clips dubbed with different music, but the hip hop ones are always the best.

I wonder why that is?

Just curious.

The guy who did the video above used Bert & Ernie film with The Proclaimers ("I would walk 500 miles") (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgjSIXC24eE) and did a good job, so it is possible to make a pretty good video w/out hip-hop. So maybe it is a good editor, too.

I would have said it was maybe because the hip-hop is repetitive. But I'm sure a good editor is a big factor. Actually, I think it's because of the way they enunciate their words. In both the hip hop and the Proclaimers, they said their words in a way that a puppet could mimic.

"they said their words in a way that a puppet could mimic." That's a sharp observation - I think you're right.
