Book meme:
One book that changed your life: Everything you ever wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask.
One book that your have read more than once: All of the Dune series (the real series--Dune, Dune Messiah, Children of Dune, God Emperor of Dune, Heretics of Dune and Chapterhouse: Dune). And everything by Stephen King up until The Tommyknockers.
One book that you would want on a desert island: First impulse? Paradise Lost, but I have to admit that semerkhet's idea of a book about survival on a desert island is the better way to go.
One book that made you laugh: Movies make me laugh. Books? Douglas Adams books are quite amusing, but I dont' know if I laughed out loud.
One book that made you cry: Breaking Clean, by Judy Blunt. She describes going through a true experience in which her child had a fever of 106F and they had to get out of their farmhouse to the hospital in bad weather and all of their neighbors drove up to the edge of their fields and shown their car lights to show them the way for miles (switching off their lights when they went by, so the next group down the road, in the cruddy downpour, knew they were making it ok). I read that chapter, went outside (and it was raining) and cried like a fucking baby. The togetherness! The fear of the parents! The togetherness!
Totally cried like a baby.
One book you wish had been written: My Life as a Man: Including My Thoughts On Marriage, Morality, Homosexuality, and Abortion, by Jesus Christ.
One book you wish had never been written: Book of Revelations, by John of Patmos.
Although, contemporarily, I have to go with Semerhket's interpretation, if only because it so comes close to my own:
One book you have been meaning to read: I still am intent on reading the Sandman series.
A book that freaked you out: I see "scared" is below. "Freaked" me out would probably be the first astronomy book I read. Um, specifically learning about quarks. Totally freaked me out. "So matter is, like, small eddies in time and space? Wha?"
A book you thought you shouldn't be reading: Fear of Flying after I stole it from my sister. 'coz I stole it from my sister, and it was rumored to be about sex.
A book that scared you: Most Stephen King books.
A book that reminds you of yourself: I have no answer to that, and can't remember if I ever did.
A book that took time to get into but turned out to be wonderful: Plainsong, by Kent Haruf. I actually threw that book across the room because it pissed me off so much. But it was given to me by a friend, so I persevered. When I got through it, I got all teary. Totally loved it by that time.
A book that you wished you lived: I really did want to be a Bene Gesserit in the Dune universe for a long time.
Adding my own new category:
A book that you're glad you didn't live: Breaking Clean.
A book that you couldn't put down and had to read in one sitting: Many, but Perfume, by Patrick Suskind, comes to mind immediately.
A book series that you read: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, the Dune series.

Dune: House Atreides, the first of the, regretfully, several Dune prequel books by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson (of Young Jedi Knights fame /sarcasm). I read the first one and it was so awful, such a blight upon the original novels, that I had to go reread Frank's books to wash the taste out of my mouth. One book you are currently reading: The Audacity of Hope, by B. Obama.
