There was another pretty high profile murder this weekend in history, circa 33 AD.

Bad, bad, bad... But you're still a better Catholic than I'll ever be.

33 AD: I used to think AD was "after death"... d'OH! I guess that would make for some undefined years between birth and death. Actually 0 AD dates to the conception. Jesus was born in the late summer-early fall. The conception just happened to coincide with PaganWinterFest.

Of course, if it was "just" the death penalty, assuming there was due process, was it really murder?

Nice icon, but there is no Chris figure in the Village People ;^)

Was he a wolf in monk's robes, like China is protraying the Dalai Lama? I'm so glad the Dalai Lama isn't in Tibet.

Me? Better Catholic? Is it just the Catholic school experience? Or the Irish last name?

I thought AD was "after death" too. I mean, we say, "afternoon," why not after death? It's all their fault for putting things in Latin just to confuse us.

I thought Jesus was born in April - that's what I've heard regarding when the likely time for the census would have been (although conception at mid-winter makes a lot more sense).

"there is no Chris figure in the Village People ;^)" That's just what I said to mda when he sent me this picture (he knew I was really amused me b/c of a certain kind of laughing I was doing).

Being Irish doesn't make you a good Catholic. I'm about 25% Irish but that gives me almost as much right to be a pagan as Catholic. You had to have learned a lot of stuff I never had to learn in "Parochial school" (sounds like prison; Juvenile Detention) whether it was true or not. I wasn't raised in a church, other than some vague Christian teachings at home and saying my prayers at night. My Dad split from the Mormon church and my Mom was only slightly Presbyterian. M'Luv can't believe how ignorant I am of the Biblical texts (she grew up über-Lutheran). But when it comes to Christian values, like forgiveness, I think I do that better than she does (which is why my family can't visit here anymore). We're about equal on charity. Jesus was silent on the "Honey Do" List, but I always feel like I'm doing penance for not working hard enough.

Happy Easter Monday...
