I came across a person on Arts Journal who talks about what she refers to as, "the retirement". Of whom?

Brett Favre.

I'm not torn up. Great player, one for the record books, but I don't feel like there's been a death in the family.

And it was unexpected to read this in Arts Journal.

Sometimes I'm happy for Brett. Sometimes I'm relieved the speculation is over. Sometimes I don't care at all.

In short, I'm never unhappy that he's gone.

It's in my blood to hate the Packers, but I can't hate Brett Favre. He's a stand-up guy. He's been so damned good for not only the Packers, but the whole profession. I'm sad to see him go, but I think it's his time.

I get all of my important news from LJ. It's kind of sad.

Well, that and NPR, of course. Poles apart, the two ends of the spectrum!

Yeah, he's a good guy. Even with the Vicodin problem (hey, it's vicodin - and he's only mortal).

I get my news from lj, NPR and Salon.com. Lj certainly gives me the most diverse news, I'd say!

I definitely get the most diverse news here. This is where I found out that Pluto was no longer a planet, Ashley Simpson shaved off her nose bump, Kurt Vonnegut died...
etc. etc. Wiiiiiiiiiiide variety of topics.
