Feb. 17th, 2008 04:28 pmReally, I just want to use my cute Polar Bear icon. I've used it before, but he's just so cute! I love his/her little round butt!
Well, in addition, we were hoping to go see our friends N&M this evening for a showing of Local Hero. Local Hero is N's favorite movie of all time, I reckon, and explains some (some but not all) of the movie lines he recites, is responsible for his e-mail address (based on the one telephone number in the small town in which the movie mostly takes place), explains his little red telephone that his wife bought him (the only telephone in the small town), and more, I'm sure. Today, the 17th, is the 25th anniversary of the first American showing of the movie, and N wanted a nice gathering to watch the movie w/friends, and have some chili (I think that really has to do w/what his wife can make really well, for lots of people, rather than anything in the movie--although I could be wrong).
Anyway, with all the snow, N called earlier to ask us not to come, due to the snow & ice. That's v. nice of him, and I'm glad we don't have to navigate the (straight) roads.
So, yeah, crazy snow, and us watching it, and me raking off part of the roof, and feeding the birds (b/c they've eaten like crazy and I want to keep them going ok) and us hearing overloaded tree limbs drop every once in awhile: that's been our day. Although it's nice and warm outside--around freezing.
What day is it again? February 17.Less than Just over 1 month to spring. Less than Just over 1 month to spring. I keep telling myself that. And, hey, I'm sitting here and it's about 4:30 and it's light outside. The sunset for our town this evening is 5:32. That's a beautiful thing.
