Needless to say, I don't agree with this

likethebeerFeds Raid Pot-Laced-Candy FactoryIt's just so ridiculous that marijuana is an illegal substance. As long as people aren't getting totally stoned and driving cars, I really can't see a problem (although I guess they don't want kids getting a hold of pot, but if it's illegal it's a lot easier for them to get it--you just go to the kid who sells pot in your school). Plus, jesus, the Feds can come in and raid some place in a state where selling it for medical purposes is legal. Well, it's not like I'm coming up with something new here, I just had to state this. I don't think it really struck me that much until I heard the story on the radio last night.

Sep 28th, 2007 | SAN FRANCISCO -- Federal agents said Thursday they shut down a factory that made marijuana-laced barbecue sauce, chocolate-covered pretzels and other "enhanced" snacks intended for medical users of the drug.
The Drug Enforcement Administration said it arrested three people Wednesday and was looking for a fourth who operated Oakland-based Tainted Inc.
Anyway, it's not going to change for a long time, if ever, so I can't see writing my congressmen about it. Still, just had to note the ridiculousness.

Date: 2007-09-29 03:52 pm (UTC)We need a new drug in this country. Something like what Hughy Lewis talked about - won't make you sick, won't make your feet feel too big. Non-addictive, doesn't make you a moron, doesn't mush your brain cells, doesn't make you sleep with anything that moves.... Just makes you feel really good, and have fun. Although LSD is a good old-fashioned drug in that case (but there's the possibility of mental breakdown).
