Archimatecture
Aug. 26th, 2007 03:39 pmI've often seen a connection between the drawing of a city by Futurist architect, Sant Elia, in the depiction of the main building of the Tyrell Corporation in Blade Runner.
The pic of the Tyrell corp building is above, avail. from "main building".
One of Sant Elia's drawings is behind the cut:

I grabbed the Sant Elia drawing, but not the Blade Runner pic because I figure that Sant Elia's work is public domain (poor stupid Futurist died in WWI, as did a few of the Futurists who, like many in Europe, welcomed WWI b/c it was thought it would cleanse Europe and set the balance of power back right).
Anyway - I think that, but I've not explored the architecture of Blade Runner. It's laziness on my part.
mmm - and I thought of this building due to "Roy Batty", from the Sandlot, who notes that: "Roy Batty ain't dead yet, he's just down at Tyrell Corporation for some maintenance. :-)"
