Oh, man, it's bad.

But I've got only 7,883 words left to write.

It's just so lame.

So far, the only exciting thing that's happened is bashing that guy with a Martin weed holder. Oh, and putting the equivalent of that prof i know in the story, that was fun. Even the dreams are lame.

just so lame.

For me, it's the chance to write a novel, and the chance to write without being overly precious about it, without analyzing the hell out of it (and I still think the book I wrote last year was damned good). As a contrast, I have a book that I started in 1990 that I've never finished. Some of the writing in it I really love, but I got stuck at a certain point in the plot and could never figure out how to make it past that. Plus, there was the idea of where and when this story was taking place, which I couldn't figure out, either. When I was doing nanowrimo for the first time last year, I happened to look at the word count for this book from 1990--it's at about 54k. 16 yaers, and it seems stuck forever.

So, yeah, I feel like the book this Nov. sucks, but all I have to do is get to 50k, and then after Dec. 1, maybe I can salvage something. It functions as a writing exercise. Kind of like when they tell you to write for 15 minutes w/out stopping and see what you come up with.

Now, darn, it's after 10 am, and I should really get moving b/c it's Thanksgiving! And I should do some writing on my lame book!

Have a good one =>
