likethebeerI should be writing until 6 pm this evening in order to finish this weekend word count challenge, but I'm stuck at the moment. Still, I know that I've written over 10k since 6 pm on Friday; and I'm in a lot better physical condition than last year when I did this challenge. On Sunday of that weekend challenge, I was in great pain as I had been sitting in the same position for about 7 hours. And all scrunched up, too, so it was baaad. Just bad.
Of course, the whole thing is still loping along, which seems to be my constant lament this time around in wrimo land. Oh, well (as I've said before): some of it is good, some is bleh. mda, in that way that he has, praised me last night because he more or less said, "I'm proud of you. Last year, you were writing about what you know, but now you're writing about things that you don't. You're stretching your muscles and if nanowrimo is a writing exercise, you're certainly exercising things right now."
In addition, since I've had to "go" (or my MC have) to so many different places, I've totally come to appreciate this guy: http://www.peterbeers.net/
He's got FLLW touring pages, with photographs on all of the places where he has gone. It's really helped me to understand the buildings. I will have to acknowledge him in the book. In fact, I want to write him and offer to give him a tour, man. Damn, it's all so cool. He's not that much older than me, if that, and he's even got a tattoo of a window from the Dana-Thomas house on his left calf. It's too cute! I am worshipping him as I write this.
So that's it. I got more raking done today and I have an hour and a half to write more. There have been more deaths and blah, blah, blah.... I got to rail against a few things, but I'm going to have to do some major editing to get this into any sort of coherent sense.
Still, all this writing has put me, I hope, on the way to making the goal of 50,000 words by November 30. After that? WHo knows.
