150 words ahead of today's quota, thanks to mda's suggestion that I make a dream out of ideas I got from JI and mda last night: that the characters are chased by "Bucky Balds" (adherents to Buckminster Fuller who drive around the countryside in their dymaxion car menacing people). Makes me want to write an absurd FLLW-themed story, after all. Instead, I wrote a dream.

Well, hell yeah, they should be using one!

And wikipedia says there's one by Jasper Johns at the Ludwig Museum in Cologne, a place (a) I have actually gone, (b) I actually have a museum catalog, which actually shows Jasper Johns' Dymaxion map. Unfortunately, it spreads across 2 pgaes and I can't scan it easily, but you can sort of imagine what it looks like: like a dymaxion map w/Jasper John's painting all over it.

I have a prototype of the dymaxian world map, painstakingly pasted together by bucky himself, sitting in my closet. A refugee from 1610 Adams St. It's too fragile to really get a good look at it, but it is damn cool.
