Ah! (nano)
Nov. 7th, 2006 08:33 amI'm running, uh, about 2,200 words behind. ANd I don't much like it at points. I've got my characters going on a big FLLW tour, but aside from just looking at the building, where can mayhem ensue, and what kind of good characters can my main characters come into contact with?
Plus, since the MC have now married each other, there's that let down of sexual tension, so I haven't been able to create good dialog between them.
ALthough I did come up with the character of a prof. in Architectural History who is a hell of a lot of fun. Hey, maybe I should modify it so that the MC are going to a conference, so our heroine can be inundated by all sorts of people!
ugh. I keep thinking, "It's nanowrimo. It can totally suck, just as long as you get to 50,000 words." I just keep thinkign that. Maybe I'll get into a groove that makes sense sooner or later.
And, HOLY SHIT!!! I got this idea for the plot based on the destruction by fire of a Louis Sullivan building in January (SUllivan was FLLW's mentor), followed about 2 weeks later by the destruction of a FLLW building in IN.
Here's the shit, though: 2, count 'em TWO. TWWWWWOOOOOOOOO Sullivan buildings have been destroyed, BY FIRE in the last couple of weeks. The Dexter Building, and the Harvey house this past weekend. THat makes three in a year. W.... T.... F!!!!!
