I have the compulsion to listen to old time radio drama on the local station. They've added Saturday night to the repetoire. That's weird, but if I come across it I feel like I must listen. 'Cept I've realized that these are things I've already heard! I'm glad they're not going to use everything in their arsenal, but on the other hand, I just wonder why (well, I know why - Old Time Radio Drama on this station is like, the hugest money maker).

Date: 2006-10-15 04:03 am (UTC)I have a deep affection for the radio plays. They're silly sometimes (and give me an insight into culture 50-60+ years ago); other times they're good and creepy. And I have a place in my heart for "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar" (crime investigations involving an insurance investigator), "Nero Wolf" (the overweight detective obsessed with orchids whose assistant is obsessed with the dames), "Boston Blackie" ("Friend to those who have no friends. Enemy to those who make him an enemy"), and so on.
