Just got an email from MikeB, a man I don't really know, but he's working on a sand pit issue at the end of our road. Whta I mean is, there's a construction company that has purchased land at the end of our road and they want to make a sand pit (we can't see it from where we live--in fact, it's over a mile away). There doesn't seem to be a good reason for it, and it was about to be snuck by the town planning council. If we can't stop the sand pit, we'd like the company to have more of a plan of what they're going to do at the end of the time using the sand pit, and if they have any plans for water table protection.

But here's the problem: I just got an e-mail from this guy, which will be the first of I-don't-know-how-many e-mails today. I counted: yesterday he sent 8. EIGHT.

I went into my hotmail account and erased all of the e-mails that I've received from him since, like, Labor day, and it added up to 7 megabytes (I could erase these they're also being sent to my work address). I've run into 2 people who also know about the sand pit issue and are on this guy's mailing list and they both brought up, not the sand pit issue, but how completely annoying this man is with his sending of e-mails (and sending of huge e-mails). 1 of the guys asked to be taken off the mailing list b/c he couldn't access his own e-mail--his mailbox was full.

I want to just write him and say, "How would you feel if I called your house 5 times a day?" I know he's passionate but he's not helping his cause. He's just annoying.

He's undermining his own support.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. I appreciate his work, but it would nice if he just waited until the end of the day and sent, say, 1 e-mail that contained pertinent information. And if he didn't send enormous e-mails indescriminently, b/c, obviously, some people don't have cable modems.

Plus, it's overwhelming. It automatically makes me feel like I will never, ever get through it all.
