Jul. 6th, 2006 08:21 amI'm back home. We got in yesterday at around 7 pm (that's why I missed the Swiss Miss meeting). I have an Estate tour today. I have to get moving. Oh, right, I hvae to get dressed, don't I (I've just been thinking about brushing my teeth).
It was good. We met a friend of mda's BIL. She's a woman in her 50s from Samoa. Sweetest woman, man. Just a really big heart. Also a widow - her husband died last year. That's the first time I've ever referred to mda's mom as a widow (although i've thought it).
What the hell is it with me writing this post with really short sentences?
We sat out on a beach in Mackinaw City & saw 5 different fireworks shows at the same time. Although I will admit that I like watching fireworks that are close up - they're more impressive; still, there's a first time for everything.

Date: 2006-07-06 09:20 pm (UTC)My mother's a widow, but my Dad is living. Is that a riddle?
Anyway, welcome back!
My mother's a widow
Date: 2006-07-06 11:33 pm (UTC)I never went beyond whatever Hemingway short story they made us read in High school. He's one of those people I know I should at least appreciate, but, nah, I've never had the GUTS!

Date: 2006-07-17 02:04 pm (UTC)Yes, her second husband made her a widow...
I've only read Hemingway's short stories... He's an acquired taste. There's only so much you need to know about bullfighting and fishing, (unless maybe ... it's ... it's a (omigod) metaphor...
