I've been added by 2 people (and I added back). I do believe that this type of rain has not shown on me since the wee-beginnings of this here lj (I'm thinking coconuthead and livsmama, although sacramentalist, erisreg & seattleforge come to mind). That's ok, anyway, since I usually barely deal with the pressure.

Um. I was going to say something but forgot what it was. I'm reading Borges, does that count for anything?

Hey, Reg! I just finished "The Garden of Forking Paths". I'm trying to figure out about lives in labyrinths and whether god or fate is a lottery (a la "The Lottery of Babylon"--I think it may be).

It's nice to read this stuff again. I look forward to the other stories I haven't read (the reason why I bought his collected fictions).

Yay, Borges. I think he's great, but when I try to describe him, I lose something.

"He wrote s short story, about a writer's essays . He likes to make up background material. This writer's final essay logically proves that Judas was the actual Christ. Because he sacrificed himself to eternal damnation."

"That doesn't sound right."

You (http://likethebeer.livejournal.com/342477.html)got me thinking about going ahead and buying his collected fictions, after all.

Yeah, I was telling somebody about "Tlon, Ugbar, Orbus Tertius" the other day, but I didn't capture it (the story where a world is invented--a fictional world that is the mythology of a fictional place--forgot that part, too). I remember writing to somebody the first time I read his stories and saying that they made me feel like a dog constantly tilting its head in curiosity. Still do.

Reading Borges is on my unwritten "to do" list...

He's fun. I'm glad I got to check him out. The first time I read him was a combination of a collection of short stories sitting in a book, being at my bf's place at the time, and being bored. Glad I took it up.

I've been added by 2 people

Hey--sorry it took me 4 days to add ya back. I was off to the wilds. Something that never happens much around here. Hope I prove an interesting excursion.
