I got Klimt

Yes, like a true art snob, I'm not so crazy about Klimt.
I mean, I do like him, who wouldn't? His work is beautiful. But his appeal is one of marketing after the fact (like Van Gogh & his sunflowers and Monet and his lily pads), and b/c he's got that one painting, The Kiss. Now, Egon Schiele (somewhat a student of Kilmt's), that is one f*cked up motherf*cker, what w/his chopped up bodies and masturbating girls.

This is actually called, Death and Girl, by the way (or so the internet tells me).
Of course, I know there are people out there who will feel bad about themselves b/c they feel like I'm denigrating their interest in art. I don't mean to. It's like if you're a great gardener who grows these fantastic tomatoes, then you go to a summer party where they're grilling, and they have tomatoes for your burger. They're store bought tomatoes, and maybe they even come from a great place. Maybe even a roadside stand. But those tomatoes don't have the taste of yours. You don't hate the people who bought the tomatoes, you have just had something better.
And, at one point at least, I studied some of this stuff, so when people tell me they love Klimt or Van Gogh or Monet, it's not that these guys suck, it's just I've experienced more.

I'm not crazy about Klimt or this guy.

And while not everyone will understand your portrait, you will!
Hmmph.
I'm not such a big fan of pop art...and he seems to be on a patriotic kick as of late.

There's no way a traditional portrait could ever capture you!
Okay, but does Dali do portraits? Technically I suppose, but they're usually just a framework for exploring some idea. There's a Schiele at the the MIA that I like, but I don't have a clear choice for who would paint my portrait.
