Poor Harrison Ford
Feb. 9th, 2006 08:33 amHe's got a new "thriller" coming out, Firewall. I just have to think the guy must be sick and tired of doing these movies. Unfortunately, the one movie that was supposed to make him "not the adventure guy" was Regarding Henry about the once powerful guy who had a serious brain injury that made him a nice guy and... get a puppy.
Harrison's just looking too old and tired for all of this. And he seems too quiet and unassuming. Hey! He's got a voice volume like mine when I forget to think about being heard by other people (i.e., most of the time). Cool! I'm not annoyingly quiet; I'm just talking at the same volume as Harrison Ford.
I think because he does seem so unassuming that I keep thinking that, somehow, he's being forced into these movies, and the whole adventure thing is starting to get a little ridiculous looking. Especially b/c the women in the movies are all like in their mid-20s, it seems (or they look it). But, you know, he's Harrison Ford. He could do anything he wanted. He could go into semi-retirement. He could do small, low-budget movies. He could work in the theater. So there's this uncomfortable thought that occurs to me: maybe he's just a greedy guy who wants nothing more out of life than to do his job, make lots of money, and fly around his private airplane (I suppose until, like many a celebrity, he crashes into the side of a mountain; and with Callista Flockhart, too). Well, I still like Han Solo and Indiana Jones.

Date: 2006-02-09 05:42 pm (UTC)I heard someone on the radio talking about making the movie with Harrison Ford, and that HF kept on telling him to hit him harder so that he could "react." I think that Harrison must be one tough cookie!
