bad dream

One of those classic movie scenarios--something must be done but the hero won't make it back from his mission. In this case, it was mda and he had to go to the moon but wouldn't have enough fuel to get back--he was going to die on the moon. So we did the whole "goodbye" thing (no sex, unfortunately, or else the dream probably would have gotten better). And then he took off. And I started crying like crazy. At some point I went immediately from this point of the dream to being awake. mda was a little confused when he woke up and I was hugging him and crying. I didn't really get to sleep after that and it's still in my, uh, morning zeitgeist.

It could have been worse. You could have been like Jamie on Mad About You. Did you ever see the episode where Paul keeps on getting these unexplained bruises, and they find out that she's been beating Paul in her sleep? At least you were hugging him! :):):)

My dad used to do that with my mom. Actually, he'd mostly kick her, but sometimes he rolled over quickly and his arm would come flying out and he'd hit her. Once he kicked her out of bed. We used to joke about my dad, the secret abuser. For some reason he stopped evenutally.

My ex once sat straight up in bed, turned and socked me in the jaw. She was fast asleep, and when pressed for an explanation, she said, "I thought you were a big Mexican."

That's just a damned funny story.

mda hasn't said some of the really outrageous things lately.

He just sent me an e-mail message--with lyrics to "Major Tom" by Bowie and "Coming Home" by Peter Schilling (the '80s Major Tom song).

M sometimes knees me when he rolls over in bed. I've gotten a knee to the tailbone a couple of times. Now, that's a wake up call!

tailbone + knee--oh. A few times mda has kind of rolled over and slapped me, but that's usually if I get into bed way after he's gone to sleep. He really loves to hog the bed when I'm not there!

M sometimes hogs the bed, but I steal the covers! So, I guess we're even. :)

mda used to steal the covers when I had a smaller comforter. I would get really aggressive because he had that cover under his knees and wrapped around his body and all sorts of crazy things.
