Rough full but
May. 27th, 2005 08:29 amSalon.com is pissing me off at the moment, so I thought I'd write over here, instead of read over there.
Last night was the last practice before the dress rehearsal practice of Swiss Miss, and when I came home, there were ruffle-butt panties waiting for me in the mail.

The photo makes them look like a quiet green (I'm sure my friend N would say some variation on a type of lichen color), but they are actually quite chartruese close-up. Who cares? Their ruffle butt panties! mda told me that the most important thing, to him, about the ruffle butt panties is wearing them with attitude. I agree. I don't think anyone will really get the chance to see them.
Anyway, all of the pieces, at least as far as that goes, are almost complete [although I still have my doubts about the butter churn, and we've never even practiced the bacon frying].
And I hear the high on Sunday is going to be in the 60s. Actually, in the upper 60s, so says the forecast, so we won't be freezing our nipples off.
Anyway, all other attendant fears are as expected. That I'll suddenly, and with no reason, completely forget the notes that I'm playing. That my mouth will go so dry or so tight that I won't be able to play. That I'll get into a coughing fit. Um. I think those are the big ones.
Oh, and needless to say, I rediscovered last night that drinking to a certain extent is not a good idea when playing the flute. Leads to some of the problems, what w/a decided lack of embouchure control (of course, I already knew that). So I'll have to watch it on Sunday. I do think 1 beer ahead of time will be a good idea to relax me, but I can't drink w/impunity.

Date: 2005-05-27 03:41 pm (UTC)Playing rock n roll is sooo damned easy compared to classical music, but you have to contend with THE PEOPLE! THE PEOPLE. I'm just layin' out the fears, man. The facing them, and all that shit.

Date: 2005-05-27 03:45 pm (UTC)I think the 1st & 2nd rendition last night was the best for me. I really FELT the MUSE-IK.
All righty--all important historic investigations await me.
