But first a piece of stained glass:

All the ladies now sing a song praising your vulvas.

This piece was one of my first. The soldering suxor and I could re-do it, but I have a fondness for it. Although to be honest, it's currently in some box in our garage, where it's been for the last 3 years, so I supposed I'm not that fond of it.

The piece is based on this piece by O'Keefe. I'm not an overwhelming fan of O'Keefe. I like her work but I'm not obsessed about it. Still, I've done a couple of pieces based on hers. I think it's because they have nice flowing lines and pretty colors. And no faces--stained glass faces, to me, are just creepy.

Oh, and I have a book of her stuff, too.

Jackie got all kitted up for stained glass work. Spent hundreds on the equipment. I have two small suncatchers to show for it.

Then I don't feel so bad that I haven't attacked it in like, a year. I really, really mean to finish this 1 piece I've got (it has about 160 pieces of glass).

that's nothing. drop in the bucket.
I've been meaning to make lists of things I've been into over the years.
I think I'd have to make it be a series of posts, though.
stained glass was one of those I never got my round tuit for.

mda has put in requests. So far, I've only made a lamp shade for our stairway light. Looks nice. He wants something in the kitchen area to block the light from the bulb, and I've yet to seriously even approach it.

THanks! Someday I'll have to hang it up (which means putting hooks into it, too). Well, I'd love to do it before mda's parents come to visit.

Awesome job! I've always wanted to try stained glass...you may have pushed taht back to the top of the list of things-to-do.

I adore Georgia O'Keeffe. On my list of dream jobs: Librarian/curator at her studio/museum in New Mexico. But that'll be the day!

That would be totally cool to work at her studio/museum. You're young--I bet the current curator'll kick off at some point.

And thanks for the compliment. Maybe I can get around to putting the other G.O'Keefe up there.

I took it slow on the stained glass front. The problem is getting a space in which to work. Your apt. now might have enough space (but you'd have to shove cchead aside).

Actually, writing to you has finally reminded me why I've got a picture of stained glass w/a cross in it (I'm not a cross person, normally): it's another O'Keefe. I think I had the right types of glass just hanging around.

Whew--that mystery piece was driving me crazy all weekend.
