Hey Chris--where are you? I miss you. Never figured you'd hear me say that, huh? And jujupees is a missing element as well. I know, you're both busy. But you bought a truck! And you're picking up the butcher's block sometime soon I hear. Don't worry, I won't give you shit like I did crypto if the deed doesn't get done asap.
Tonight mda & I are going to Bill W's house, which should be a lot of fun. We'll get to see Marianne (who's getting back from her mom's today, w/her daughter who's visiting from Florida), and hopefully Beth & Greg. I never figured when I was 25 that I'd have friends old enough to be my parents (ok, well, they would have had to have been late high schoolers/early college students at the time, but still). I also like hanging out w/older people that aren't like my parents' friends: making 1/2 million dollars a year (or more), w/highly successful children who make at least 100k a year, who had huge weddings, and now have a couple of kids, or at least one, who go skiing in Aspen or the Alps once a year, and who drive NEW BMWs. Is it any wonder that my whole sense of myself as a person gets totally screwed whenever I go home?
But we'll be hanging w/Greg, and he (like our friend N) will say, "I wonder what the poor people are doin' tonight?.... Oh, wait, we're the poor people, so I guess they're doing this."

Date: 2003-08-13 02:16 pm (UTC)You would probably read more of my foolishness on LJ, but everyone (jaaladay included) but you has disabled the anonymous responder possibility. What that really speaks to is that I'm lazy/technologically impaired, ergo I have no lj of my own.
Anyhoo, maybe a trip to Rumbleseats for a corndog & softserve? Give a jingle - jujupees, the terrorist & I will gladly act like the the friends we claim to be...
