Happy Btthhhhdddayy
Feb. 26th, 2005 09:49 amIt's my birthday, dammit! 37 today. 37 feels like a headache from drinking.
Went to Danny's memorial last night. I cried. I cried for him, and I cried for Marianne, and for all the people there who were going to miss him. Danny's kids had never been up here, and were really fascinated by the stars, and the people. In a stroke of genius, one of the organizers asked that Marianne get all of her husband's hats (you always saw him with a hat on), and they were placed up on the wall, stretching from side to side. And 2 other people blew up some photographs that had been taken of Danny, and some with him & his kids, or Marianne, and put 'em on the same wall.
Ok, I thought that I was supposed to get a paid account for my birthday. That's one of the things that I specifically asked for. The person who was going to get it for me is actually going to Madison to get me something else, I hope. I hope he gets me a computer that can play Outcast. Now, I have a free lunch to get, and half-price clothes at the Bargain Nook in town. Well, after I shower.

That's a hell of a birthday deal.

Date: 2005-02-27 01:49 pm (UTC)The 1/2 priced clothes come from a used clothing store. Actually, it's a charity store--people donate the clothes, so giving me 50% of something still means they mak 50% of something. They get a lot of things from Land's End that are in pretty good shape. The sparkly shirt did not come from Land's End.

Date: 2005-03-01 04:27 am (UTC)I'm Denise, I'm friending you 'cuz i dig your comments on the various other friends-of-livsmama that I've come across, and damn butter pecan ice cream and west wing sound dandy. And you don't think Alan Cumming is creepy like pretty much all my friends but me do. I may not be the best authority, though, as I had a humongous thing for Kevin Spacey for like 5 years, heh. Nobody needed to know that, but, uh, there ya go!

Date: 2005-03-02 04:06 pm (UTC)As anyone here can tell you, prepare yourself to hear a lot more about Frank Lloyd Wright (FLLW) and Taliesin (http://www.taliesinpreservation.org/) (which is where I work) than you ever thought possible. I usually put all my FLLW stuff in friends only.

Date: 2005-03-02 02:14 pm (UTC)I think a cool thing about you & lj is when you travel, b/c it's so hard to explain your life, otherwise. I felt like I had the inside scope, before your husband got an lj, b/c people would ask about jujupees from time to time.
I was thinking aobut your coolness last night in a fever-induced haze. That, and a story about the Rapture. When I wasn't going through one of the Outcast worlds in my head (Shamazaar). Best thing about this sickness has been the vivid imaginings, since the "sick" feeling was more sick than druggy (my usual preferred sick experience).
