I took the plunge this evening & made sugar cookies using bacon fat. This is the recipe I got from RecipeSource.com:
Title: Sugar Cookies
Categories: Polkadot, Faylen, Cookies
Yield: 1 Servings 3 cookie sheets for me, so I actually DID make 3 dozen cookies with a recipe!
3 c Flour
1 1/2 c Sugar
2 ts Baking powder
1 pn Salt
1 c Butter
2 lg Eggs, beaten
1 ts Vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift dry ingredients together. Work butter into the dry mixture with a pastry cutter until it becomes coarse grains. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until blended. You can use an electric mixer at this point, but it’s better if done by hand.

Roll out dough to about 1/8 inch thick and cut with cookie cutter. I didn't do that - just used the size of a teaspoon. Space cookies 2 inches apart on baking sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes and cool on racks. Cool completely before frosting.

These are the Christmas cookies that my family’s sworn by for three generations. You can fool around with them by adding different extracts - I've done well with mint extract and almond extract. I'm guessing the next time I'll be making Christmas cookies will be when I see my niece & nephew which means no bacon fat (my middle sister's a vegetarian; and E won't have it sitting around).

Instead of 1 cup butter, I used 1/2 cup butter & 1/2 cup bacon fat. Since this went well, I might do the whole thing next time (although the bacon fat did make it richer).

And I didn't use a sifter or a pastry cutter to mix all of the ingredients together: I just used a fork, muscle, and time (which I had).

Prudential Family Hour of Stars: "Night Must Fall"
An old woman and her niece are living in a house out in the country. Psychotic, Danny, has come to work for the old lady.... The niece has some idea that he's crazy & a murderer, but she's just hidden the evidence that he killed someone else. I can't figure that out at all.

Although, I'm glad to have heard, "There's been a muuurrder" just like my friend and I used to say to each other when we were reading Agatha Christie books.

... huh - well the niece let him get away with the head in the bed, just because she wanted to figure out if he was the murderer. I don't think she's made a good decision in that case.

Well, maybe she did: this guy killed her aunt (who she wasn't crazy about), then the guy was caught before killing her.
Dragnet: "The Big Actor" 08/10/50
It's about a huge amount of narcotics stolen from a Catholic hospital. I have to say, I forgot that cocaine could be in the cache in a hospital.
Whisperer: "The Fight Game" 08/12/50
Ah, yes: The Whisperer... whose secret weapon is that he... whispers.

Well, he's got some fancy explosive device in his cigarette pack that will explode, which we find out when he asks his girl to grab his pack and light a cigarette for him (which is right after he tells his girl, "No, of course I don't have some crazy explosive device."). That's not him being playful - I'm afraid that's him just being stupid. And setting up a plot device which I am sure will come in handy later.

... I like how The Whisperer calls someone from a pharmacy and you don't hear anyone buying stuff (like cigarettes) in the background.

OH! I can see that the plan with the cigarette pack was all part of his plan: he used his girl's freaking out later for the chance he needed to get the upper hand. Good to know he knows how she'll freak out enough to use her. True love.
