Morell party!

Sometimes I just love the people around here. Local artist, BW is having a morell party. In addition to getting to eat wonderful food, we'll get to hang out on his deck w/all the fascinating people he knows, and we know, too (including our friends Beth & Greg, who we never see enough).

My lampshade now has all of its panels soldered, and the 4 sides have been tack-soldered together. The corners have to be done (I need my small soldering iron for that one), then cleaned. I must try to find out what other people who aren't on a city water treatment system do about cleaning lead solder off their glass pieces. I've been cleaning things in a bucket, then allowing the water to evaporate, so I'm not washing stuff into the sink, then into our septic tank.

Stop me before I cook again...

I may have used the 2-cup measuring cup instead of the 1-cup measuring cup when I measured out 1 1/4 cups sugar (aside from the fact that I was first going to put in 1 1/4 cups of flour & 1/3 cup sugar instead of the other way around). And I forgot to put butter on the top of the mixture after putting the 2nd crust on the top, so I had to peel the top crust off to get the butter in there.

I have no idea what happened to whatever incling of cooking sense I at one point had.
