That's what I did down to the mailbox last night. We paid a heap-ful of bills, and none of them were completely horrifying! Not only that, but I just sent in my fee for my license plate registration (a month early) and I still have some money in the bank! How the hell did that happen?

I actually brought up the subject last night of us selling the car. Well, mda started that topic. We shouldn't have bought that car. We should have bought the 1 that was 1/2 the price (and 3x the miles). But he'd just lost his truck, I mean the thing just died. It was always crap, never got over 14 mpg, and the chocke was kept open by a jammed-in pen to prevent the truck from dying. Something reliable was on the order of the day. Problem is, if we sell the car, we couldn't make back how much we owe on it. Additionally, we have to put some money into it to prepare it for sale.

Still, it would get the payments (and insurance) off our backs.

Anyway, that's a small thing at least at the moment. I'm just too excited to have all of our bills paid up. The inbox that mda keeps this stuff in is completely empty! (ok, so we'll be getting more in a moment, but I just want to bask)

Pay those bills off! :)

Isn't that a wonderful feeling?

Ugh! I still got 2 years to pay off this damn car.

We've got 2.5. And we didn't get the best interest rate, either (and this was when our credit ratings looked a *lot* better).

Well, I can't complain about the interest rate. Just the committment. I want it over and done with! I hate debt. Hate it! The house doesn't count... there's no end in sight for that. I just have to accept 20+ years of bi-weekly payments.

Yeah, just sign on the dotted line and don't look. I'd admire people who can do bi-monthly payments. The best we do is pay $900/mo, while our payment is only 881. $19/mo is nothing, but I figure it's got to do something in the long run (well, and we hope to pay more when we're doing better).

I figure bi-weekly is better, because I'm paid at the same interval. I can then allocate how much of my paycheque goes to regular payments. I don't get much left over.

Let's see:
monthly payment * 13/6 = biweekly payment

So $414.55/month on my car is actually $192/paycheque. Oh how I would like an extra $192/paycheque!

Speaking of credit. Mastercard just raised my credit limit. Out of the goodness of their heart. Ha!

Congrats on paying your bills & having money left. That always feels nice.

My cc has a limit of close to $30k. The minimum monthly payments would probably =my paycheck. And the only thing that will stop them is a written letter.

$30k? Holy cow! That's completely insane!

The most I've ever had on it was $2500, and that was about 6 years ago. They just keep sending me those dumb letters, like you said, "generously" upping the limit.

Ooo...this reminds me...I have bills to pay...

I was doing ok with the bills and actually had money left over like you two. But then I started buying things. That always adversely affects my wallet! :)

I was doing ok, then there was the trip to PA, a medical bill, and some other unexpected thing. mda & I talked last night that we're either staying here for x-mas (yay!) or we'll have to ask our 'rents for money to see them (w/mda's dad, and my mom, that's an impetus to go home).

I started buying Christmas gifts already. I figure that if I pick them up little by little, it might be better for my finances in the long run! So far, I have my a portion of my family and friends covered. Just a few more to go. :)

I always forget about a book a friend of mine has, about having a $100 x-mas, until about a week before x-mas. Maybe I'll remember it this time.

I think that I have already gone over the $100-mark. But at least I've spread it out this year!
