Dear good girl magazine:

It has now been over 2 months since "candis" wrote me explaining that they're "a little late" on the submission process. Which means that it's been almost 4 months since I submitted my piece to you. A piece that, if it gets published, which I doubt, as I've never been published (well, hardly ever), I will only get a copy of the magazine.

All I asked the last time I wrote to you, candis at good girl, was whether or not you rejected my piece. I understand that you are trying to put this magazine together, and you don't need some nobody bugging you about her submission, but it's disappointing.

I sent them a sort of follow up to "Rank and File," wherein I try to figure out what it means to, once again, be the straight girl in the family, the 1 who was supposed to have the kid & get married, but having been beaten to it by my oldest sister. It's shorter, and is in part a reflection on how it seemed that (one of) the lesbians in my family seemed to be able to get pregnant easier than me. I guess this doesn't make sense. I might have to post it to let you know what I mean.

Then second piece does use part of the paragraph about being bugged by my sisters to get married--the "you wish you were on Zoloft" paragraph.
