I read the article on the 14 reasons. Good analysis. Trouble is those who saw what was happening weren't in a position of power and Nationalism can cloud one's objectivity. History is replete with self-fulfilling prophecies. (Like the terrorists operating out of Iraq. The public has a convenient blind spot for the sequence of events; how many Americans know that Al-Qaeda moved into Iraq because of the war, not the other way around. )
