Which movies have you seen?

The Godfather

I haven't seen them all the way through yet either. Don't worry! You're not the only one! :)

Certainly sounds like I'm not alone!

I love "The Godfather".

Shawshank is a damn fine film. I'm amazed it's #2, though.

I'm glad they call "Star Wars", "Star Wars", and not "A New Hope (Greedo Shoots First)"

From: [identity profile] likethebeer.livejournal.com
I was surprised by Shawshank, also (it's one of my favorite Stephen King stories, too).

"Greedo shoots first"-- :)

"Star Wars, the last hope: someone kills the little Backstreet Boy wannabee calling himself Attican Skywalker."

That's ok. I'm awaiting the flack for being one of the only adults in this country who didn't like the Star Wars movies.

Awa.... wha?!... How could you!!

Was forced to watch them back-to-back-to-back one afternoon when I was not in the mood for any movies, let alone over 6 hours straight Star Wars.

Hence my attitude towards them.

Please don't hurt me. :)

heh heh

Watching f*cking Ewoks dance after 5 hours of Star Wars might leave a bad taste in your mouth. Sort of "furry".

I still like the 1st two.

I haven't see the godfather either...
I have 1 billion things to do, but I thinkn I will take the meme first!

So you can all see how pathetic i really am.

From: [identity profile] likethebeer.livejournal.com
Pathetic? No. Although I did take this while I should have been at least preparing lunch. Now I'm at work and I really need to get going on, you know, actual work.

never seen the godfather either, so don't feel too bad.

Well, that's something to do the next time you see your honey.

First he has to watch The Third Man. Joseph Cotten is great, and so is Wilfrid Hyde-White. Plus, there's all that zither music!

Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

Did you know that there was a radio program called, "The Adventures of Harry Lime"? Starring Orson Welles. It's really a very odd thing, b/c he's sort of an adventurous rake in it who mostly does good, although usually has the intention of swindling along the way. And it's got the zither music.

From: [identity profile] coconuthead.livejournal.com
Wow! That sounds fantastic.

Date: 2004-07-13 05:43 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] likethebeer.livejournal.com
I was confused when I first heard it, b/c this isn't the Harry Lime from the movie. I've since heard it about 4 times on Old Time Radio Drama night.

Orson Welles was so frickin' sexy (and "obediantly yours").

He had a hell of a voice. Irresistable.

Godfather

You should rectify your Godfatherlessness post-haste.

I'm serious.

What's the holdup, bub?

Not much (except that it's finally summer and finally sunny and I want to be outside as much as I can stand it). Although mda gets really freaked out by mob movies. Doesn't stop me from seeing them someplace else, I'm just saying.

Witness protection?

That would explain why he likes the "goatee/no goatee/soul patch" rotation.

His family and his college buddies call him by a different name ("Mike"--he's so not a Mike). um. And this may explain the "lived in a cabin for 6 years w/no running water."

"I'm interested in the Thoreau experience." Right.
my. monkey. ass.

I haven't seen The Godfather, either.

You NEED to see La vita รจ bella (Life is Beautiful). It's one of the most touching films I've ever seen. I'm so glad I caught it on Bravo one night.

Oh--the Bernini film? I've seen that. I wandered about the kid's emotional reckoning when he realizes, hey, I got the tank, but, um, where's dad?

Date: 2004-07-13 04:27 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scotia-girl.livejournal.com
I haven't checked through this list, but I have never even seen enough of any Godfather movie to even count them as "started but not finished."

Date: 2004-07-13 05:02 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] likethebeer.livejournal.com
Oh yeah. "Only saw Brando's death scene" or "made it right up to the horse's head in the bed" doesn't count as "started," does it?

Date: 2004-07-13 07:00 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scotia-girl.livejournal.com
I dunno. I've never seen the horse's head scene.

Date: 2004-07-13 08:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] likethebeer.livejournal.com
I've seen parodies of it, and movie clips from "the top 100 movies of all time" sorts of things. We should ask sacramentalist what that's all about.

Date: 2004-07-13 05:54 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mslilly.livejournal.com
didn't do the meme, but you're not alone; I have never seen the godfather movies.

Date: 2004-07-13 06:04 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] likethebeer.livejournal.com
Man, there has been a lot of that today. It's really interesting.
