Dr. Sixgun: "Indians Poisoned" 09/02/54
Very nice collection of stereotypes of Indians saying long, metaphorical things. They keep calling the white guys "white eyes" which creeps me out a little.
Hopefully the bad guys who have poisoned the Indians will get caught.
& Dr. Sixgun is being rescued by a crow, who's good at unfastening knots.
Jack Benny: "Nightmares of Fred Allen" 01/30/37
Nothing much to report. Except there are floods (in the real world). And my father was born about 7 weeks after this program.
Gangbusters: "A Date with Death" 06/04/49
It starts with a woman being picked up by a man at a football game, even though she's got a boyfriend.... "Maybe everything about us was meant," he says... to the woman he met 20 minutes before. Oh, good: that "love in a minute" of old radio programs.
Well, Roy Wood (the gentleman who fell for the girl) is being pursued by the cops in Baltimore. I guess Elaine (the woman) should have checked some more.
Yeah, Roy's been doing stick-ups & killed a cop. Now the cops have figured out who he is & are on the look out for him. Fortunately, Roy's landlady thinks he's a "fine young man". I think the landlady is in for some hurt. Unfortunately for Roy, Elaine isn't doing really good cover for him. Well, and she didn't want to see him get hurt but she had to lead the police to him, and then he got put on death row. She should never have bummed a cigarette.
Damon Runyon Theater: "A Very Honorable Guy"
A man is trying to make a deal with some doctor for his body after his death (he's thinking about killing himself).
Ok: so the selling of his body has led to a streak on winning money; he won 18,000 smackers, which means he can pay back for his body & then marry Hortense.
It was amusing. I wish they hadn't had a constant laugh track, though.
Ok, I'm just going to listen now & not write anymore.
