News from the primary

PA is heavily Catholic. Over 1/3 in the Democratic primary, according to NPR. Never knew that. Ok, there are the Italians, Irish, and Poles, but I never heard it put that way. I'll have to ask my mom what that's all about: why are there so many Catholics in her state?

That's nothing much, but through our conversation tonight, I mentioned to mda that I have stuff in common w/his mother that he doesn't: I'm a Catholic school kid.

"I went to Catechism," he said.

"You're a CCD kid," I replied. "That's not the same as Catholic school."

It ain't.

Weird

Last night was warm and so I went to bed after leaving 2 of the doors open downstairs (the top of them are screens that were cracked open about 4 inches). Then I got out of bed this morning, right before sunrise, and looked out the window to fog rolling in. Meanwhile, a bird was singing. I walked downstairs and of course it was damp & chilly, because of the doors being left open. So I went to the door & turned off the outdoor light. It was at that moment that I had a distinct sense of deja vú.

So I told myself to check the sunrise times in early August, b/c I suddenly had the feeling like I had woken up, very early, on a late summer's day.

Whaddya know: today, the sun rose at 6:05. The sun rises at 6:05 on Aug. 15.

Edit: OH MY GOD.... August 15 is the anniversary of the 1914 fire at Taliesin.

mda has been very supportive of the fact that I think that this is just "sick and wrong." I really appreciate that, because this just makes me feel slightly dirty and crazy.
