Nov. 28th, 2003 02:13 pmThe movie, Timeline has gotten thoroughly panned in www.rottentomatoes.com. Bummer. I liked this book v.much in part b/c it shows humanities grad students kicking ass. Not so much literally, but there's one who uses rock climbing equipment to scale ruins. Ok, there's 1 guy who's a total nut about the 13th century, who knows how to put on the underwear and stuff, and he's described as a total babe when you know he'd be a pasty nerd, but it's still cool. Plus I think it describes how people can visualize these older civilizations and buildings.
The last time I saw Raiders of the Lost Ark there's the moment where Indiana discovers the resting place of the Ark. It's after he goes to the room w/the map and the funky jewel thing. He's looking through a surveying equipment and spots it, and gets this look on his face of excitement, happiness, and satisfaction. And I realized that it was a brilliant moment, b/c I've had so many of those moments myself this year.
